War in Ukraine – Week 27

FMRS 10 1

Day 186

August 29

Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched a counteroffensive in multiple directions in the South of the country. On the one hand, locals have been waiting for this day for a really long time. On the other hand, the official number of 9000 deceased Ukrainian defenders is going to go up. May whatever higher power you believe in protect you guys!
(The map is older, but gives a decent idea of where the action is)

Day 187

August 30

Not sure what I find more despicable: Occupants removing truckloads of rubble (and human remains) from residential areas of Mariupol or Interviews with Russians in Moscow where they say their lives haven’t changed since February and they only concern they have regarding the invasion of Ukraine is the possibility of mandatory mobilization. Delusions of the Pope.

Day 189

September 1

Back to school day like never before – bomb shelters are ready, and parents and teachers are anxious. For a very good reason! In the first 5 months of the full-scale invasion, 286 educational institutions have been destroyed, and 2300 damaged.
At least the kids are excited.
